Where's Spring?

These pictures are from Sunday. It was so nice this weekend...it made me think that maybe, just maybe, spring is around the corner. Of course I've since forgotten that thought and decided that winter is never leaving this year. It is currently 16 (F) at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. That would be like -9 (C). Way too cold for March.

Lava Life

I walked into Timothy's room the other night, as part of his bedtime ritual, and turned on his lava lamp. I had to stop and take a second look at the shape that had formed when it cooled off the night before. At first I thought it looked like a hand reaching out for help. Then I thought it looked like some sort of creepy animal. Next I decided that it was legs stuck in some horrible accident. Finally I told myself that my imagination was running wild. What else is new?!

Pink-N-Orange

I've decided that pink and orange is the perfect combination. No longer do I want to live in a pink-only house. It's going to be pink and orange. Maybe a little green and blue. Maybe even a little red. Maybe there's something wrong with me.

The hearts in these pictures are really pink. The flash turned them orange. I think that is just the neatest thing, especially since I so love pink... and most of you already know that orange holds a special place in my heart. What a 'coincidence' that a pink heart would turn orange with a little light shining on it.

For The Birds

These birds certainly have the right idea...sitting by the water, soaking up the sunshine, enjoying the warm weather...I think I'll run away and join them.

Hairy Man

Timothy attends a Saturday morning program called Caring Arts, where he learns constructive ways to deal with his feelings through music, dance, and art. When I picked him up this past Saturday, he handed me this picture that he'd made. He said it was Hairy Man. Once we were home, he said they'd had a lesson on anger management. When I asked if this guy was angry, he said, "No, he's hairy."

(Please enlarge - even his heart is hairy. )
